Winglights nExt Installation & Use
COMPATIBILITY (BIKES AND E-BIKES):
Winglights NeXT are compatible with straight handlebars (flat bars) and handlebars with curvature up to 30°. They were not designed to be compatible with drop bars, bullhorn handlebars and cruiser bars.
COMPATIBILITY (E-SCOOTERS):
Winglights are fully compatible with any e-scooter both with hollow and crescent-shaped Ø22mm handlebar and without the need of any adaptor.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
To install WingLights nExt you will need to cut part of your handlebar grips. Winglights nExt require 12.5 mm of free space at the end of the handlebar.
You can cut your existing grip or replace it with another one with open ends (we suggest a grip with open ends and length of 90 or 95mm).
Never remove the following headless screws to disassemble the light.
Disassembling the light can damage your product and will void the warranty.
TOOLS REQUIRED:
FIRST ACTIVATION:
1) Unscrew the handlebar’s locking screws.
2) Use a flat screwdriver or a small coin to unscrew the lid of the battery compartment.
3) Extract the battery and remove the isolation pad sticker.
4) Reassemble (the positive pole of the battery have to point towards the light).
BATTERY REPLACEMENT:
1) Unscrew the handlebar’s locking screws.
2) Use a flat screwdriver or a small coin to unscrew the lid of the battery compartment.
3) Remove the depleted battery and replace it with the new battery. The positive pole have to point towards the light.
4) Reassemble.
Which battery should you buy?
The battery included in the product is CR123A (LC16340), 1450mAh 3.0V non-rechargeable. You can expect it to last 432 full cycles of 25seconds (auto-off timing of the first models) or 720 of 15 sec (newer models).
If you have the right charger you can also buy a rechargeable battery, in this case we suggest a CR123A with same or higher capacity (mAh).
HOW TO USE:
Press the embedded button to turn the blinking light ON or OFF. WingLight nExt is equipped with an auto turn-off function that will deactivate the light after 25 seconds to preserve the battery.
INSTALLATION:
For the installation the Winglights nExt require 12.5 mm of free space at the end of the handlebar and you will probably need to cut part of your handlebar grips. This may not be required if you have open-end grips and/or with a removable cap at the extremity and obtain enough free space (12.5mm) by moving components (brake lever, throttle) around.
If you do not want to modify your original grips we suggest to buy another set of handlebar grips with open ends and length of 90 or 95mm.
CUTTING YOUR HANDLEBAR GRIPS WITH CLOSED ENDS:
We suggest to remove the grips first, not to scratch the handlebar.
Using a cutter, while being extremely careful not to get hurt, cut part of your grip. You have to create 12.5mm of free space at the extremities of your handlebar.
Crescent handlebar:
Step 1) Install, but do not tighten, the M4 screw and the internal adapter into the front facing hole; do the same with the M5 headless screw into the rear facing hole.
Step 2) Slide the WingLight nExt in place and tighten both screws.
Hollow handlebar:
Step 1) Install, but do not tighten, the M5 headless screws into the front and rear holes.
Step 2) Slide the WingLight nExt in place and tighten both screws.
